About Us

Little Wonders Arts Academy is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring creativity, nurturing talent, and cultivating a lifelong love for learning in children aged 4 to 15. Through engaging programs in piano, music education, arts & crafts, sketching, and Chinese literature & writings, we provide a welcoming and enriching environment where young learners can explore their passions and develop their skills. Our team of highly professional and experienced teachers is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, and is committed to delivering personalized instruction and fostering self-expression, confidence, and cultural appreciation in every student. We currently operate as a weekend program, with the majority of our classes held on Sundays.

Our mission is to inspire and empower individuals through art education. We believe in the transformative power of creativity and aim to foster a community of passionate artists.

Meet the team

Elaine: President / Co-founder / Music Instructor

Elaine has been studying piano since the age of six and has performed in several recitals during her college years. With classical training as her foundation, she is proficient in teaching a diverse range of musical styles on the piano. Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Stony Brook University and a Master of Science in Music Therapy from Molloy University, both based in New York.

With over seven years of piano teaching experience, Elaine has helped students of all ages and skill levels achieve their piano learning goals. Her background in Music Therapy has influenced her to be patient and flexible, enabling her to tailor lessons to each student's unique needs while making learning both enjoyable and accessible. Whether working with beginners or advanced learners, Elaine encourages creativity and personal expression in music, beyond technical skills. In addition to piano, she teaches music theory, helping students understand the structure behind the music they play.

For more advanced students, Elaine also offers the opportunity to learn to sing and play their favorite songs, improvise, or compose, providing a well-rounded musical education. Elaine is committed to fostering both technical proficiency and a deep love for music, with lessons designed to inspire, build confidence, and nurture each student’s unique musical voice.

Annie: Treasurer / Co-founder / Art Instructor

Annie's journey in visual art began at a young age, transitioning from a cherished hobby to a lifelong commitment. After being accepted into a specialized art high school, she continued her passion by majoring in studio art in college. Annie has explored a wide range of artistic mediums, from 2D forms like graphic design and printmaking to 3D techniques such as ceramics. Her works have been recognized with awards and featured in both group and solo exhibitions.

In the professional art field, Annie gained valuable experience working at an art gallery, enriching her understanding of art education and curation.

Annie also has extensive experience teaching art to children. She thoughtfully designs creative sessions with engaging themes for those aged 12 and under. For older students or those seeking to advance their skills, Annie offers advanced technical courses focused on drawing and other specialized topics.

Grace: Secretary / Co-founder / Chinese Literature Instructor

Grace is a passionate and dedicated Chinese instructor with over nine years of experience in learning and teaching the language. Beginning her Chinese journey at just four years old, Grace has cultivated a profound understanding of both the language and its rich culture. Along the way, she has actively participated in various volunteer events, helping others appreciate and engage with Chinese traditions.

At 13, Grace’s connection to Chinese culture is both deep and vibrant. She eagerly shares her love for Chinese literature and history with her peers, fostering meaningful connections through these traditions. Grace has a remarkable talent for working with children, demonstrating patience, understanding, and creativity in her teaching. She goes the extra mile to make learning enjoyable and effective, ensuring her students not only succeed but thrive.

With clear and accurate pronunciation, Grace sets an excellent example for her students, guiding them to embrace the language with confidence. Known for her unwavering dedication and supportive nature, Grace inspires her students to develop a love for the Chinese language and culture while creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.
